THE ONES THAT FULLY PARTICIPATED

I think it hit me, when I turned 70 that I am no longer a participant rather a spectator"- Princess Alice Mountbattern (of nowhere), The Crown

One of many beautiful facts about nature; dawn will come, the sun will rise and we will see a beautiful morning. Human beings no matter how privileged we are, with the capacity to control the most on this earth we cannot control this beautiful nature. We cannot control time and go back to the past; we cannot go to the future and see what will happen and most of it all we cannot freeze a moment and make it last as long as we want to. As a millennial I would say one thing about time "IT WILL GO ON" and there is nothing we can do about it. When I heard the words of princess Alice of nowhere, it reminded me that there will reach a time we will not be able to do half of the things we can do now, we won't have enough energy or maybe enough time. We don't know what that will look or feel like.

But now that we know there will be a time in our life where we will not be participants, what do we do? Well, I guess time is still on our side, we do not know what will happen in the future but we know what is happening now. We wake up and make the most of every minute that we get, be it at work, with family, our friendships or anything that we put our mind into. If there is anything you are involved in, give it your all, are you creating? working in corporate? running a business? or doing anything for the greater good do not “live” half-way do not “leave” half-full give it your all.

I am not undermining a bad day’s capability of making you feel miserable but as I said “a day” not a week not a month not a year. We might not be able to control time but we can control what to do with it, our minds, our actions can mold a bad day into a better one or feel it and wait for the next one and make it the best. But with all these good or bad days just make sure you have lived it fully even when you failed to fix it be content that you gave your all. When we do anything let’s be satisfied with what and how we have done.

Let’s make our life ride worth it, and when we seat down and remember these days, the days of participation may we be full, proud, happy and may our faces glow & show that we have lived, we have lived through our mistakes, our failures, we have lived success, we have accomplished, we have grown, we learned and unlearned and again we have LIVED and we will be fulfilled and satisfied.

When we are no longer participants, may we be content, may the future participants learn from our participation be it good or bad and we will say we have truly participated may there be no regrets of not being one of them, THE ONES THAT FULLY PARTICIPATED.
